Ralph Nevins who?
I am a Photographer with a different view of everyday items. Currently employed in the High-Tech industry in Ottawa, Ontario, I use my knowledge of electronics to build devices for capturing moments invisible to the human eye. Freezing motion or extending time across long exposures, I create images that elicit a response of “how…? or what…?”.
I use standard techniques, traditional darkroom and digital cameras, as well as various experimental methods I.E. home-made pin-hole to homebrew scanner cameras to create my images. With the exception of my panoramas, my images are not digital creations, collage nor montages (Photoshop realities), the instances within the images are real. The panoramas and variations that I create are stitched images from 4 to 22 images recorded within a few moments of time.
Since 1998 I have had a permanent display of poster art in the Department of Mathematics at M.I.T. in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
2006, three images were shown in the Selections 2006, an art show sponsored by Arts Ottawa East, at the Gloucester Gallery (June 2006).
